Helping You Rebuild After Hurricane Helene

Although every season has its own unique charm, our team of professional painters in Asheville admit that we’re a bit partial to fall. There’s nothing quite as vibrant and breathtaking as the colorful bouquet of firey reds, vivid oranges and shimmering yellows. Surrounded by the faithful, rich greens of our native Eastern Hemlock, and you’ve got a match made in heaven. Don’t let these images slip away with the season – let them inspire your next home update!

Seasonal Inspiration That Lasts

Whenever you are considering a seasonal refresh project, the first thing you need to consider is whether or not that look will still be relevant six months after. For example, if the color choices you are drawn to will just leave you feeling claustrophobic come July, you may want to reconsider. Let the Fall colors inspire you – absolutely – but remember that accent décor can be swapped out much easier than wall colors.

Fall Interior Color Expressions

Fall is one of the top times of year to consider updating some of your interior wall colors. It’s the time of year when you start thinking about being indoors a whole lot more. It’s also the signal to begin thinking about family gatherings for the holidays. When choosing your Asheville painting fall refresh color palate, think in terms of warmth and sophistication. Here are a few of our favorites (all from Benjamin Moore) to get your wheels turning:

  • Metallic Gold 2163-40: The perfect accent color to add a bit of gold shimmer to your space; think picture frames, chair upcycles or accent walls
  • Bear Creek 1470: A cozy brown-grey mix that offers a softer twist on the current black wall trend
  • Baby Fawn OC-15: As sweet as the name suggests, this greige blend will warm up any space (especially with its subtle pink undertone)
  • Sequoia 1245: An updated, understated twist on the classic burgundy

Exterior Fall Updates

Don’t let your interior have all the fun – we encourage you to seize this opportunity to punch up your curb appeal a bit, too, with some seasonal inspiration. As you spend time in your yard with fall clean-up duties, we encourage you to assess your home’s colors, conditions and overall vibe. Look for places that need a little extra love.

Nature really goes all out with the traditional fall palate – every shade of the Western North Carolina tree line begs to be represented in your home’s exterior. You can add a pop of burnt amber to your shutters. Or, what about a fresh, rich green coat on your front door? If you have a covered porch, try bringing a touch of elegance to the porch decking with something in the red or yellow family.

Fall Accent Fun

As we mentioned earlier in this post, accents are a large part of bringing the beauty of fall into your home update. Accents and decorations allow you to really lean into an idea without being committed to that theme for the entire year. Here are some fun suggestions for leveraging fall colors in a temporary way:

  • Front door wreath with fall flair
  • Hurricane vases filled with acorns, twinkle lights and an array of colorful leaves
  • Pumpkins, pumpkins, pumpkins! (Don’t forget to throw a ghost pumpkin or two in there, too)
  • Incorporate cozy visual textures to add emphasis to the fall themes
