POPular Colors

Colors can make or break most spaces and set the tone for any room or exterior. At DAB Painting, we use premium Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore products on residential homes and commercial properties that we work with. Both brands have named their 2024 color of the year and we are so excited to dip our brushes into these fresh new shades.

Onwards and UPWARDs

The Sherman Williams color of the year *drumroll, please*… Upward SW 6239, is a beautiful, breezy blue to brighten any space. This is a big contrast from their 2023 color of the year, Redend Point SW 9081, a warmer, clay color. Our favorite colors to pair with Upward are:

  • Palm Leaf SW 7735
  • Snowbound SW 7004
  • Gale Force SW 7605

We can’t wait to see the results of our customers adding these new colors to their homes!

SuperNOVA

The Benjamin Moore color of the year is hard to miss, Blue Nova 8265 is a perfect blend of violet and blue. Our favorite colors to pair with Blue Nova are:

  • Mount Saint Anne 1565
  • Monterey White HC-27
  • Paper White 1590

If you’re feeling blue, Sherman Williams and Benjamin Moore have just the right cure 😉

Innovative Painting Techniques

Now that you’re up to date on the latest paint trends, let’s talk about 3 ways to incorporate new colors into your home in a unique way.

#1. The Ombre Option:

We all know the ombre look on hair was big a few years ago, but did you know it can also create an impressive gradient effect on your walls? This style can add a modern and artistic touch to any room. Picture a darker shade of blue slowly turning Sherman Williams Upward as your eyes look down the wall. We’re sold!

#2. Getting Into SHAPEs:

Upgrade your walls with geometric patterns for a modern, contemporary look- you really can’t go wrong with any pattern. Get creative with your color strategy and map out what shapes you want on your walls. Or, go in without a plan and freestyle your way through the paint can.

#3. The Final Finish:

Experiment with textured finishes like popcorn, smooth, or sand swirl. These finishes can add depth and character to your walls without making too bold of a statement.
